There are no parties here. That is why people come back.
Araçatiba sits on the inner side of Ilha Grande, far from the busy pier at Abraão. No streets, no cars, no loud music after dinner. Just boats arriving slowly and the sound of water beneath the floor.
Convés is for you if you
- want to fall asleep to the sea and wake up without an alarm
- want to eat very well without leaving the inn
- are planning a honeymoon, an anniversary or a real rest
Maybe not, if you
- want nightlife and bars open late (that is in Abraão)
- want to walk from beach to beach all day (here you get around by boat, kayak or trail)

Lunch is served over the water. And it is worth the trip on its own.
Chef Si Sales cooks fish and shrimp from the bay, served on the deck. The dish guests mention most in reviews is the shrimp chiclete, a creamy shrimp and cheese classic. Boaters who come just for lunch are welcome too.
The deck and the sea
The sea starts at the last step.
From the deck you slip into the water, put on a mask and see fish, coral and, with luck, a turtle. Kayaks and paddleboards leave from the door. Lagoa Verde is about a 45 minute paddle away.

Getting here
Getting here is part of the trip. It takes three steps.
To downtown Angra
By car or bus to Santa Luzia Station (Estação Santa Luzia), in downtown Angra dos Reis. There are paid parking lots near the pier.
A 25 minute speedboat
The speedboat leaves Santa Luzia Station straight to Araçatiba. Before boarding, each person needs the Viva Angra voucher (island entry fee).
Step off at our pier
Arrange it with the inn in advance and the boat docks at our pier. You step off with your bag and you are home.
How does booking work?
You pick your dates on the website calendar, see the available suites and pay a 50% deposit on the inn’s official booking page. The balance is paid at check-in, on arrival.
What is the cancellation policy?
The deposit is not refunded in cash: it becomes credit for another date if you notify us in writing (email) at least 15 days in advance. The credit is valid for 90 days. With less than 15 days’ notice, there is no credit. On long holiday weekends, Christmas, New Year and Carnival the same 15 day rule applies.
Is breakfast included?
Yes. Every suite includes breakfast, served on the veranda.
What kind of trip is Convés made for?
For resting. It is a quiet, peaceful retreat chosen by couples and by anyone who wants to switch off. Each suite sleeps up to 2 people.
Is there Wi-Fi?
Yes, satellite Wi-Fi in every suite. On the island, mobile signal varies by carrier.
