Convés opened in 2003, when a couple moved to Ilha Grande to raise their youngest son by the sea. The family still welcomes every guest.
The name comes from ships: convés is the Portuguese word for a ship deck, the wooden floor where you look out to sea. That is exactly what the inn is, a deck built on the rocks of Araçatiba Bay.
In the kitchen, Chef Si Sales. At the pier, the house boat. Everywhere else, people who know the island and answer every guest on WhatsApp before they arrive.
